1 “Do not let your heart be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me.
2 In My Father’s house there are many dwellings; if it were not the case, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again (erchomai palin) and take (paralambanō) you to be with me/receive you to Myself, in order that in the place where I am, there you may be also.
4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
The return of Jesus has always been the great hope and comfort of the Church. However, as with the disciples response to Jesus telling them about this, there is much confusion regarding this issue within the Church.
Firstly, the failure to differentiate the “rapture” from the second “advent” of Christ leads to total confusion regarding most passages referencing Jesus’ return, leading to a general idea that “Jesus will return to make everything right”.
However, the Bible gives many details about the end times. The prophet Daniel in the Old Testament around 540 B.C. had various dreams and visions of the “time of the end” or end times (Daniel 2:28; 8:17,19,26; 10:14; 11:35,40; 12:4,9,13). Some of these were interpreted for him by the angel Gabriel, and they were all consistent in laying out a timetable for future kings and kingdoms.
This included the prophecy of the “70 weeks” (of years) in chapter 9:20-27 which accurately predicted the day of Jesus entry to Jerusalem as “Messiah the Prince”.
We are currently in the long gap period in between the 69th and 70th week - the Church Age hidden from the Old Testament prophets. However, we are rapidly approaching the 70th week which is the 7 year tribulation period.
Daniel’s visions of the 70th week involving the antichrist (“little horn”) give several clues about this leader and show that this period is nearing.
The following links highlight some of these clues:
Daniel 7:24-25 - he “shall intend to change times and law” - today we see many laws being changed in the context of covid and controlling medical professionals.
“Who understands sinister schemes.
His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
He shall destroy extraordinarily,
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity.”
This could well describe the covid deception where the planned pandemic and response has destroyed many lives while prospering the global elite.
37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all.
The suggestion that the antichrist will be homosexual fits with current trends.
39 he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for profit.
38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses (“a strong place”); and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things.
The contrast with the “gods” here could not be more stark - an eternal home in heaven with Jesus which will never pass away, compared to an underground luxury bunker isolated from the rest of the world which is being destroyed.
John 14 - continued…
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7 “If you have known Me, you will know My Father also; and from now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”
28 You heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and I will come back (erchomai) to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.
29 “And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.
